This art started out as a personal project to draw 50 birds that frequent the San Francisco Bay Area. My studies and stylized sketches of these birds led to a surface design called "Bird Nerd," but also turned into various other bird-related projects and products, including a linocut print of a quail for Roadworks 2022 and Christmas-themed birds for Bird Art Week 2022. It's so handy to have learned more about these birds, their forms and distinguishing characteristics - I know they'll continue to appear in future projects.
